Sedro Woolley Youth Football and Cheer is run on 100% volunteers. The overall success of this program is dependent on volunteers like yourself. Committees are comprised of Associate Members lead by a current SWYFL Board Member who aid and assist in the management, oversight, and operational success of the SWYFL. Committees include the Cheer Committee, Field Committee, and Fundraising Committee. Volunteers will meet or communicate with their respective Board Members as needed throughout the season and provide recommendations to the SWYFL Board for improvements.
CHAIN GANG
The chain gang consists of 3 people. Two people hold the yard markers for the referees. The third person holds the down marker. The chain gang moves up and down the field with the yard markers as directed by the referees.
PLAY COUNTER
Count each player's number of plays per SWYFL / NCYFL rules.
FIELD MONITOR
This position is keeping an eye on the spectators during the game, and also assists with the pregame weigh in procedures.
CLOCK & SCOREBOARD OPERATOR
Watching communication from officials to keep everyone up to date on scores and time.
SET UP / CLEAN UP
Getting gear set up on the field for home games, take down at the end of the day, typically at the Sedro Woolley High School.
COACHING
Teaching fundamentals and love of the game to the next generation of Cubs! Safety of your athlete is our #1 priority. All coaches are certified with Heads Up tackle safety through USA Football and be First Aid / CRP certified. Head coaching applications are typically opened in February/March confirmed placements around in April/May. Assistant Coaches must also pass a background checked and be certified with USA Football. TEAM MOM / DAD
Let's face it, Coaches can't do it all! Team Moms or Dads are the go -to for Coaches and Parents for items ranging from organizing communication, snack sign ups, end of season parties, ect.
